We are back in action as we wrap up week 2 of Pre-Season. All really hard fought games this week all around the map, as we amp up to our regular season games. Let’s take a look first, at our Boxboro Tuesday night league. Our first game was the Black team vs. the Red team. Neither team really having an edge over one another and ending in a riveting 7-7 tie, with Justin Lin scoring the hat trick for the Red team. An all around great effort from both teams. Our second game in Boxboro was a score of 6-2 with Vegas Gold striking first in the game and ultimately beating the White team and ending their pre-season on a high note.

    Our next night we take you out to Newton for our Upper C Division. Our first game pits team Green vs. team Gray. The game ends in a 3-3 tie as neither team was able to break the stalemate when the game clock hit zero. Then, in the second game of the night a very high scoring game. Red pulls out a win beating Yellow by a score of 9-7. Red had a four goal lead halfway through the first. With Robert Zuker scoring a short handed goal in the third period to seal the deal for the Red team.

   Next, we go to our Thursday night leagues. First we will start with our Newton Lower D league. For the first game in Newton, Ryan Kelley tops off his hat trick performance with an empty netter with the Light Blue team winning the game against Green with a score of 4-1. In our second game the Red team vs. the Black team with both teams wanting that win and coming so close, but the game ends with a 2-2 tie. Then, all the way in Nashua, New Hampshire, where in our first game Light Blue plays the White team. Light Blue’s Brad Hurley has an All Star performance and gets his team the W with a hat trick. In our second game it is Green vs. Black. With Black having the final word and taking the W by a score of 8-2.

    In addition to all of the action around the league, we have our two Sunday night league’s in Tyngsboro and Hooksett. This week in Tyngsboro, our first game is Light Blue vs. Red. With Nate Caughel showing off his Gordie Howe skills and abilities in a 4 goal game leading the Light Blue team to a 7-5 win over the Red team. Then, in our second game it is Yellow vs. Green. Jeff Geary pulls out his inner Wayne Gretzky and also scores 4 goals leading the Yellow team to a 5-2 win over the Green team. Then, we come back to Hooksett, New Hampshire. Our first game pits the Red team vs. the Vegas Gold team with a score of only 2-1 at the end of the first period with the Red team in the lead and ultimately winning the game by a score of 4-2. Both teams had given it everything they had. Our second game in Hooksett puts the Green team against the Black team. A close match throughout the whole game as Green takes a 2-0 lead to start but the Black team battles back as Matthias Downey is able to tie it with less then 2 minutes left in the game.

    Now, for our final pre-season games of the Fall 24 season, we take you out to Woburn, our first game of the evening pits the Green team against the Red team. Both teams were neck and neck until Red took the lead in a riveting third period but then, with 46 seconds left in the third Tom Burke with an assist from Joe Chiarenza ties it up for the Green team ending in a 3-3 tie. Then, in our second game of the evening Vegas Gold’s Steven Freitas comes up with a four point performance to put his team ahead of the Black team with a final score of 6-2 with Vegas Gold winning our last pre-season game.
